  • On May 31, 2025 a webinar titled "Discussion on Coping with Diabetes" was conducted by TRIOMPH, the patient support group of MOHAN Foundation. The session was moderated by Ms. Jaya Jairam, who began with an overview of diabetes statistics in India and introduced the two speakers: Ms. Nupur Lalvani, a Type 1 diabetes advocate and founder of the Blue Circle Diabetes Foundation, and Dr. Subha Murthy, a kidney transplant recipient and MBBS doctor, coping with post-transplant diabetes. The discussion focused on how both speakers manage their daily routines while living with diabetes. They spoke about medication, diet, mental health, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle despite ongoing challenges.

The session followed an interactive, Q&A-based format. Ms. Jaya led a conversation with Dr. Subha about her experiences with both pre- and post-transplant diabetes. Participants actively engaged, raising common concerns. One question focused on whether temporary spikes in pre- and post-meal blood sugar levels should be a cause for worry. Both Ms. Nupur and Dr. Subha advised monitoring long-term patterns rather than individual readings. Another question from a pre-diabetic participant asked about managing the condition through diet, to which the speakers responded with practical suggestions around nutrition, exercise, and regular follow-ups. The session provided valuable insights and reassurance to patients managing different forms of diabetes. Around 25 people attended the session.
