

Evangelical Social Action Forum (ESAF) is a registered Non-governmental organization (NGO) working the field of vocational training, women’s development and empowerment etc. They asked MOHAN Foundation to conduct an organ donation awareness program for their staff members as Christmas celebration on 22 nd December. It was done in their office premises.
Mr. Vima Mathtai, H.R. Manager welcome Mr. Bulu Behera, Transplant co-ordinator of MOHAN foundation. He explained the concept of Organ Donation, Brain death, age criteria to donate organs. He also explained legal aspect, the procedure and tests conducted to established the brain death.
Mr. Bulu explained that myths and misconceptions about organ donation is the main cause of very low rate of Organ donation in India as compared to other countries. He also explained about the “OPT IN” and “OPT Out” procedure.
At the end of session, out of 30 members, two members filled the consent form and taken responsibility to spread awareness about organ donation among their community work.
