On 13th August 2025, the People’s College of Nursing, Bhopal University organized a webinar to commemorate World Organ Donation Day. The program aimed to create awareness about the noble cause of organ donation and highlight the role of healthcare professionals in this life-saving mission.
The college invited the MOHAN Foundation, a pioneering organization in the field of organ donation and transplantation, to lead the session.
Dr. Rajesh Bhargav, representing the Bhopal Organ Donation Society, addressed the participants and emphasized the importance of organ donation in saving lives. He highlighted the need for active participation from healthcare providers, students, and the general public to strengthen the organ donation movement in India.
The webinar also featured an insightful talk by Ms. Kavitha Aneesh of MOHAN Foundation, on new career opportunities for nurses in the field of transplantation. She elaborated on the diverse roles nurses can play in transplant care, counseling, coordination, and post-operative management. She also spoke about the wide range of opportunities available both in India and abroad, encouraging the students to explore this evolving field.She elaborated on the two major courses given by MOHAN Foundation for nurses to become Transplant Coordinators.
Ms. Aneesh explained how these courses not only enhance professional competencies but also open global opportunities for nurses who aspire to work in the transplant field.
The interactive session inspired the nursing students and faculty members to actively contribute to the cause of organ donation and opened new perspectives on career growth in the specialized field of transplantation.
