CME for Nurses in Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi

  • As a part of raising awareness on organ donation in Sir Ganga Ram Hospital (SGRH), Continuing Medical Education program (CME) was organized for nurses on 23rd January, 2013.The session was attended by 71 nurses from the hospital.

     

    The presentation focussed on brain death, its causes and diagnosis, organ and tissue donation and myths and beliefs around organ donation. Dr Dhar. took a separate session on the role of nurses in identification of brain dead patient and maintenance of a donor since critical care nurses play a key role in organ donation. Dr Muneet Sahi also introduced the nurses to the Transplantation of Human Organs Act.

     

    60 Fliers and close to 10 donor cards were distributed after the presentation.
