  • On June 13, 2026, Mr. Gabriel Pereira, Organ Donation Ambassador from the MOHAN Foundation (Multi Organ Hope and Advocacy Network), set up an Organ Donation Information Desk alongside a Blood Donation Camp organized at Mall De Goa, Porvorim.

The blood donation camp was jointly organized by Mall De Goa in collaboration with JCI Porvorim, Bharat Vikas Parishad Goa (Pranth - Panjim Branch), Loving Hearts Goa, and the North Goa District Hospital, Asilo Blood Bank.

The camp was held at the Food Court of Mall De Goa, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Ms. Sanyukta Gaude, Treasurer of Loving Hearts Goa, coordinated the event with the mall representatives and assisted in the smooth conduct of the camp.

A total of 34 individuals registered for blood donation, of whom 26 were found eligible and successfully donated blood. Several donors were first-time blood donors. Being held in a popular shopping mall, the camp also attracted tourists and visitors who noticed the promotional posters and voluntarily came forward to donate blood, along with the Mall and shop staff.

While donors were resting after their donation, Mr. Gabriel Pereira, who is also the Secretary of Loving Hearts Goa, interacted with them and expressed his gratitude for their selfless act of donating blood. He explained that a single blood donation can help save three to four lives.

As part of the awareness initiative, Mr. Pereira distributed Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) leaflets on organ donation to all blood donors and encouraged them to learn more about the cause and consider pledging their organs. He highlighted that while living donations such as blood, one kidney, and a portion of the liver can save lives, deceased organ donation and organ donation after brain death have the potential to save up to eight lives and enhance the lives of 50 individuals through tissue donation.

The interactions with the donors were highly engaging and informative, with many participants showing keen interest in understanding the importance of organ donation. A total of 26 organ donation FAQ leaflets were distributed to the blood donors during the event.

The initiative successfully combined blood donation and organ donation awareness, promoting the spirit of saving lives through both causes and encouraging greater public participation in life-saving donations.

Gabriel Pereira, along with Ranjit Rodrigues, the founder member of Loving Hearts Goa, with Mark D’Souza, the President and Sanyukta Gaude, Treasurer, thanked the Executive Director of Mall De Goa and Jai Bhuvan Group, with Rasika Parab, the Marketing Manager of the Mall, and Members of JCI in making the event a grand success and supporting both the noble causes
