MOHAN foundation conducted an awareness session on organ donation for drivers in the RTO, Giripeth, training hall on 12th June 2018. Mr. Sharad Jighkar, Regional Transport Officer, Giripeth, Nagpur invited MOHAN Foundation to create awareness among the drivers who apply for vehicle registration and driving license.
Mr. Bulu Behera Transplant coordinator, MOHAN Foundation delivered a talk on Organ Donation and explained the following:
v What is Organ Donation?
v Who can donate organs?
v Types of organ donation.
v Brain Death, Natural Death and Coma.
v Myths related to Organ donation.
v The Law on Organ donation and Transplantation.
v Deceased donation case in Nagpur.
v Importance of Donor card, Helpline number and website.
28 drivers were present at the talk and 3 drivers signed consent form and took donor cards.
