As part of raising awareness on organ donation in Sir Ganga Ram Hospital (SGRH), awareness talk was organized for B.Sc students of Nursing School on 6th March, 2013.The session was attended by 84 students.
The presentation focused on brain death, its causes and diagnosis, organ and tissue donation and myths and beliefs around organ donation. Types of donors were discussed and the students were also introduced to the Transplantation of Human Organs Act.
They were told about brain death cases in their own hospital so that they could identify with it. Many of them knew about Organ Donation. The batch was an enthusiastic one. The talk was also attended by one of their faculty members. 87 Fliers and close to 70 donor cards were distributed after the presentation.
