  On 20^th December 2018, MOHAN Foundation was invited by Ms. Priya,   NSS Program Officer of Government Model Senior Secondary School Behlana, Chandigarh to conduct an awareness talk for their students at the NSS camp of their school. Approximately 60 students from class 12^th and 2 Teachers attended the session.

   

  Students were given an introduction & presentation on how important is Organ donation and tissue donation and how many end stage patients are waiting for organ transplant by Ms. Neha Sharma.

   

  The talk focused on concepts of organ donation and transplantation.

   

  Explained the following points:-

  • Necessity and importance of organ donation
  • Types of Donors
  • In case of natural death which tissues  be donated
  • What is brain death and in case of brain death which organs and tissues can be donated
  • Myths on organ donation
  • Importance of Donor card

   

  It was indeed an amazing session all the students were highly motivated and said they will come forth to make it success in their areas. In the end they were also told that it is very important to tell your family about their wish. Also, helping people to visualize the lifesaving impact that organ donation makes on their community.
