Updated on Friday, May 2, 2025
  • ARUWYE and NGO in Chennai, organized a Summer Camp 2025 at their training centre in  Kodambakkam, Chennai. It was for the benefit of children in the local community. The 20-day camp commenced on April 28, 2025 and on day 3, MOHAN Foundation was given an opportunity to talk about eye donation.

On April 30, 2025, Mr Ganesh C, engaged the students of summer camp, the students were from the grade 7th – 9th. As the session was scheduled next to environment awareness, Mr Ganesh, used the RRR concept and rephrased the abbreviation as “Recycle, Reuse, Relive” to fit into eye donation. He explained how corneal donation can give the sight of vision to others.

The young minds, were curious in learning and raised basic doubts too, and few or the questions are:

    1.  How can only this layer give vision to others?

    2.  What happens if the 6 hrs donation time frame is exceeded?

    3.  Can all the blindness be cured if the whole eye is donated?

64 students and 8 volunteers participated. MOHAN Foundation extends its thanks to ARUYE for the opportunity and Ms Kalyani, Coordinator for the support.
