TASMAC Employees Union organized blood donation camp for the Employees on 31st December 2012. Mr.Rajendran, programme organizer invited MOHAN Foundation to put up a stall as a part of their social awareness initiative. The stall was set up to create awareness on Organ Donation and it contained publicity materials such as donor cards, and brochures. It was manned by Transplant Coordinators Ms. Jessi Saranya and Mr. Johnson.
The Transplant Coordinators explained the concepts of brain death and organ donation to the TASMAC Employees who came voluntarily to pledge their organs. Around 30 Employees picked up the donor cards. Many queries were raised by the employees such as why organs cannot be donated after cardiac death, how to contact a eye bank in an event of death in the family. These queries were answered by the transplant coordinators.
