On August 31, 2017, Mohan Foundation was invited to conduct an awareness session on organ donation for the employees of Bharti AXA General Insurance at their office in Mercantile House, Connaught Place, New Delhi. Ms. Geetanjali Kothari (Associate Vice President-Innovation & Marketing, Mumbai) took the initiative to have these talks in Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai & Hyderabad - other branch offices, in order to ensure maximum participation. Dr. Muneet was the resource person and Ms. Mareena accompanied her.
The session began with Dr. Muneet introducing the Foundation and its objectives and activities. She then gave the group a brief preview of the concepts of organ donation and transplantation. The concept of brain death was explained with the help of a short movie. Organs and tissues that can be donated after brain death and after circulatory death were also clearly outlined.
All in all, the session lasted for 45 minutes. 12 employees attended the session with 2 donor cards being picked up.
