

On April 12, 2013 MOHAN Foundation conducted an awareness session on organ donation for the students of IIT, Delhi. First & second year students pursuing B. Tech in various fields like electrical, mechanical, civil, computer science, electronics and chemical participated in the session.
Various concepts of organ donation and transplantation were addressed.Post the presentation, many queries relating to the THO Act, organ trafficking, should organ donation be made compulsory, can recipients be organ donors, certain religions prohibit organ donation, incompatible blood group transplantation and future engineering where organs could be made artificially were discussed at great length.A short film on 'brain death' was also screened to give the group clarity on brain death and how it is different from coma.
Close to 20 students attended the talk and 12 took organ donor cards.
