On December 21, 2019, MOHAN Foundation was invited to conduct an awareness session on organ donation for the employees of Resistoflex Pvt. Ltd in Noida, UP. The session was organized through an initiative by Dr. Shefali Sood w/o Mr. Nishit Sood, Chair of the Delhi chapter of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Yi (Young Indians). Dr. Muneet Kaur Sahi was the resource person and Ms. Preeti Goswami accompanied her.
CII Yi have taken up the cause of organ donation and the Delhi chapter is partnering with MOHAN Foundation to create awareness on this crucial lifesaving cause. Young Indians (Yi) is an integral part of CII and was formed in 2002 as a PAN India platform for young Indians to realise the dream of a developed nation.
Resistoflex Pvt. Ltd was founded in 1947 by Late Mr. R.K. Jain after graduating in Electrical & Mechanical Engineering from BHU, India. The company offers a most comprehensive range of products comprising of Application Engineering, Vibration & Seismic Engineering, Flexible Piping Systems for Industrial equipment, Machine Tools & Forging Hammers, Heavy Machines, Army Vehicles, Tanks, Shelters, Naval Ships & Submarines and Aerospace.
Mr. M. L. Jain, Director Corporate Affairs, Resistoflex Pvt. Ltd addressed the audience and introduced the MOHAN Foundation team. He then invited Dr. Muneet to begin the session. The session began with screening of a movie - Donate organ and save life. Dr. Muneet then spoke about her association with MOHAN Foundation and its role in creating awareness in the field of organ donation since 1997. The participants were asked if they had heard about organ donation and eye donation and also inquired if any one amongst them or in their families, had signed up to be an eye or organ donor. Many people raised their hands in affirmation of having heard about organ donation.
Dr. Muneet explained the basics of organ donation. She explained the following in detail:
At the end of the session, movie on brain death was shown to the audience to bring clarity to the said subject. Importance of eye donation and the whole process of eye donation was also explained in detail. The participants were encouraged to pledge for eye donation.
Mr. Jain informed that the audience present may not have knowledge of organ donation but they all knew about eye donation and many amongst them would have signed up for eye donation.
Mr. Aradhya Jain, Director, Resistoflex Pvt. Ltd also attended the session.
In the end, Mr. M.L. Jain gave the vote of thanks and expressed gratitude to the MOHAN Foundation team for enhancing their knowledge on organ donation and encouraged each and every one present to sign up for organ donation.
Close to 27 people attended the session and same number of donor cards were picked up.
