  On 13^th August 2022. MOHAN Foundation conducted an awareness on Organ Donation at RV Nursing College, Bengaluru. Mrs. Ranjini Shankar was the key resource

  Mrs. Ranjini Shankar MS, initiated the session by introducing MOHAN Foundation, its mission, vision and kept the audience engaged throughout the session. The following concepts were explained in detail

  • Concepts of organ and tissue donation,
  • The types of death i.e., cardiac death and brain death
  •  Brain Death and the procedure to declare Brain Death through Apnoea test
  •  Procedure of deceased organ donation and live organ donation.
  • Procedure of skin and bone donation.
  • Barriers in the process of organ donation
  • Myths and facts related to organ donation and its impact on the society
  • Importance of Donor card

   

  Students participated in the events like Rangoli competition, Poster making competition and video development competition and supported the organ donation concept. Media coverage was done by News Alert Channel.

  Mrs. Ranjini Shankar MS continued the session, inviting the participants to join MOHAN Foundation’s internship and volunteering program.

  Around 150 members participated in the session including the Nursing students and Staff of RV Nursing College bengaluru.

  Brochures and donor cards were distributed at the end of the session
