
On July 24, 2019, MF representatives conducted another session on organ donation for the nurses of Artemis Hospitals, Gurugram. The first one was conducted on June 29, 2019. The session was organized by the nursing education department for nurses as part of their induction training.
Nurses from various departments like critical care units, emergency, dialysis and new joinee attended the talk.
Dr. Muneet introduced MOHAN Foundation and its activities and objectives. She began the session by asking the participants a few questions on organ donation. With the help of statistics, she explained the huge gap between demand and supply of organs. Further, she explained the difference between circulatory death and brain death.
She also explained which all organs and tissues can be donated after circulatory and brain death respectively. She encouraged the nurses to talk about organ donation with their families and to take initiatives in their respective departments. This practice would increase awareness around organ donation within the hospital.
Close to 90 participants attended the session.
