Mr. Sharad Jighkar, Regional Transport Officer, Giripeth, Nagpur invited MOHAN foundation to conduct an awareness session on organ donation for drivers in his training hall on 2 February 2018. This was for drivers who apply for vehicle registration and driving license.
Mr. Bulu Behera, Transplant Coordinator, MOHAN Foundation Nagpur Centre delivered a talk on Organ Donation. In his talk he explained for following points:
v What is Organ Donation and the Transplant Law
v Who and what can be donated
v Types of organ donation
v Brain Death, Natural Death and Coma.
v Myths related to Organ donation
v Deceased donation cases in Nagpur
v Kidney transplant hospital in Nagpur
v Importance of Donor card, Helpline number and MOHAN Foundation website.
It was a very interactive session. 29 drivers were present at the talk. 3 drivers signed consent form and took donor cards.
