Awareness session on Organ Donation conducted at Adhichunchanagiri Medical College Tumkur

  • On 29th November 2022 MOHAN Foundation conducted an awareness session on Organ Donation at Adhichunchanagiri Institute of Research and Medical Sciences for the medical staff, medical students, paramedical students and non-medical staff, Tumkur.  Mrs. Ranjini Shankar was the key resource.

    Mrs. Ranjini Shankar MS, initiated the session by introducing MOHAN Foundation, its mission, vision and kept the audience engaged throughout the session. The following concepts were explained in detail

    • Concepts of organ and tissue donation,
    • The types of death i.e., cardiac death and brain death
    •  Brain Death and the procedure to declare Brain Death through Apnoea test
    •  Procedure of deceased organ donation and live organ donation.
    • Procedure of skin and bone donation.
    • Barriers in the process of organ donation
    • Myths and facts related to organ donation and its impact on the society
    • Importance of Donor card

    Mrs. Ranjini Shankar MS gave a brief insight into MOHAN Foundation courses and motivated the students to pledge for organ donation

    Around 1700 members attended the session.

    Brochures and donor cards were distributed at the end of the session

    MOHAN Foundation thanks the Adhichunchanagiri Research Institute of Medcial Sciences Medical College for their support towards the cause of Organ donation
