Awareness session on Organ Donation at C-Edge Mumbai Head Office.

  • On 3rd February 2023, MOHAN Foundation was invited to conduct an awareness session at C-Edge centre, Mumbai. The awareness session was in collaboration with C-Edge Technologies. Two awareness sessions were conducted by Ms. Jaya Jairam. These sessions were conducted pan India. People joined the session both online and offline.

    Around 300 people attended the first session online and 73 people attended it offline. There were around 200 people online and 8 people offline in the second session. Ms. Jaya started the session by interacting with the audience on their views regarding organ donation and what emotions come up while hearing about organ donation. Audience had mixed responses. Ms. Jaya then proceeded with the session and answered the following questions-

    • What is Organ Donation and who can donate organs?
    • What is living donation & which organs can be donated?
    • What is deceased donation and which organ and tissues can be donated?
    • Types of death and in case natural death which tissues can be donated?
    • In case of brain death which organs and tissues can be donated?
    • What are the causes of brain death?
    • Difference between coma and brain death.
    • Time factors of organ retrieve as well as transplant.
    • Whom to contact for organ donation?
    • Age limit for organ donation?
    • Role of NOTTO, ROTTO, SOTTO, ZTCC in organ donation.
    • Information about organ transplant priority list.
    • Myths and facts related organ donation.
    • Importance of donor card.
    • Request to use MOHAN Foundation website and help line number to pledge for organ donation.

    People asked a few questions post the sessions. Ms. Jaya had one on one interaction with a few individuals. It was an informative session and people were helped through these sessions.
