MOHAN Foundation was invited for an awareness program by Nathan Housing Complex in Thiruvanmiyur, Chennai on 29th December 2016
The program was conducted by Mr. Periyanayagam and Mr. Siva Shankar of MOHAN Foundation. First the green ribbons were distributed to the audience in support of organ donation. The program started with a video film on Tamil Nadu and Organ Donation. This was followed by a presentation was done by Mr. Siva Shankar. The presentation showed the importance of Organ Donation and its needs. The main part was on Brain Death and the presentation lasted for around half an hour. This was followed by a 15 minute Q & A session handled by Mr. Periyanayagam through which all the doubts regarding Organ Donation were cleared. The main discussion was on tissue donations and donations while living.
To end on a positive note a recipient video was played to show the value of the donation to a patient.
10 residents attended the program in which 3 people picked a donor card to support Organ Donation.
