On May 16, 2026, an awareness program was conducted at Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Kairai, under Mandwi RD Block, for the students and teaching staff of the school.
The Principal, Fr. Juel Ekka, welcomed the MOHAN Foundation team to the school. Mr. Vincent Debbarma, Project Lead, MOHAN Foundation, Tripura and Mr. Biswajit Debbarma, Program Executive, MOHAN Foundation, Tripura, was were the resource persons for the program.
The program began with Mr. Debbarma introducing MOHAN Foundation to the participants. He shared that the foundation was established in 1997 by Dr. Sunil Shroff, its Founder and Managing Trustee, and highlighted the foundation’s extensive work across various regions of India.
The session was then handed over to Mr. Vincent Debbarma, who spoke on the concept and importance of organ donation. He explained the types of organ donation, including living and deceased donation, and elaborated on brainstem death, highlighting the difference between brain death and coma. He also discussed eye donation and the process through which a person can donate their corneas after death.
Finally, the program concluded with a vote of thanks from delivered by the Principal, who expressed gratitude to the MOHAN Foundation team for conducting such an informative and meaningful awareness session programs for the students.
The session was attended by 735 participants, who were also provided with informational leaflets on organ donation to further enhance their awareness and understanding of the subject.
