On June 18, 2026, an awareness program on organ donation and transplantation was conducted at Sacred Heart School, Mandwi, West Tripura. The main objective of the program was to create awareness about the importance of organ donation and to encourage young minds to understand its life-saving value.
The session was conducted by Mr. Vincent Debbarma, Project Lead, and Mr. Biswajit Debbarma, Program Executive, both from MOHAN Foundation, Tripura.
Mr. Vincent explained the importance of organ donation, the difference it can make in saving lives, and the role of awareness in removing myths and misconceptions surrounding the subject. He shared that organs can be donated both during life and after death, depending on medical conditions and legal procedures. The participants were encouraged to discuss and share the information they learned about organ donation within their families and to spread awareness within their communities. Mr. Biswajit also distributed organ donation awareness leaflets to the teachers and students.
The awareness program was informative and meaningful. About 435 students and 12 teachers attended the program.
