On June 6, 2026, an awareness programme on organ donation and transplantation was conducted for the staff members of the Inspector of Schools, TTAADC, Mandwi, with the objective of increasing awareness about the importance of organ donation and the organ transplantation process. The session was facilitated by Ms. Nipa Modak, Program Executive, who served as the resource person for the programme. Mr. Vincent Debbarma, Project Lead, and Mr. Biswajit Debbarma, Program Executive, were also present.
During the session, Ms. Nipa highlighted the importance of organ donation in saving and improving lives. She discussed key aspects of organ donation and transplantation, including donor eligibility, the legal and ethical framework, and the role of individuals in promoting awareness. Participants were also informed about the process of pledging organs and the importance of discussing their decision with family members.
The session was interactive, providing participants with an opportunity to clarify their doubts and gain a better understanding of organ donation and transplantation. Ms. Nipa emphasized that organ donation is a humanitarian act that can offer a new lease of life to patients suffering from organ failure.
A total of 13 staff members participated in the programme. The session concluded with a vote of thanks, and participants expressed appreciation for the informative and engaging discussion on organ donation and transplantation.
