
On 7th February, 2015 MOHAN Foundation Chandigarh conducted Awareness Program for the students of GMSSS-27, Chandigarh under the “Student Awareness Campaign” which started on to cover all the government schools of Chandigarh. The session which was conducted in GMSSS -27 covered the students of 11th standards from Humanities and Non-Medical section. The Principal of school was very supportive of the cause.
Around 100 students participated in the program and were given presentation on the phenomenon of Brain Death and the process of organ donation through a presentation and videos by the Program Coordinator Nilakshi. The myths and misconception associated with organ donation were also discussed and got cleared. The donor cards were shown to them. They asked very relevant questions regarding Blood as well as Organ Donation. After presentation students were keen to know the process of organ retrieval and transplantation.
Students were given Brochures of MOHAN Foundation and some of them picked the donor cards (around 30 students).
