Awareness Talk on World Malaria Day at Govt Model High School 49, Chandigarh

  • On the occasion of World Malaria Day, the Punjab Red Cross Society organized a special awareness program in collaboration with the Civil Dispensary. The initiative aimed to spread awareness about malaria prevention, treatment, and community responsibility. The SRDF-MF was invited to be an integral part of the activities, adding significant value through their commitment to public health and humanitarian causes.

    Activities Conducted

    • Awareness Session on Malaria: Medical experts from the Civil Dispensary delivered informative talks on malaria prevention, symptoms, and treatment.
    • Interactive Workshop: Mohan Foundation representatives engaged students in discussions about healthy practices and the importance of early diagnosis.
    • Demonstrations: Practical demonstrations on mosquito control measures, such as the use of nets and maintaining hygiene, were showcased.
    • Organ Donation Awareness: SRDF-MF addressed both school staff and dispensary staff on the importance of organ donation, clarifying misconceptions and encouraging educators and health workers to spread awareness in their communities.
    • Poster Making & Slogan Writing: Students expressed their creativity by designing posters and writing impactful slogans on malaria prevention and organ donation.
    • Rally & Slogan Shouting: Students and staff took out a rally around the school premises, raising their voices with powerful slogans to spread awareness in the neighborhood.
    • Community Engagement: Students, teachers, and health staff participated in a pledge to spread awareness about malaria prevention and organ donation.

    Impact

    The event successfully educated students, teachers, and dispensary staff about malaria prevention and broadened their understanding of organ donation as a vital social responsibility. The creative activities—poster making, slogan writing, and rally—helped reinforce the messages in a lively and memorable way. The collaboration between Punjab Red Cross Society, Civil Dispensary, and SRDF-MF highlighted the importance of joint efforts in combating public health challenges and promoting humanitarian values.

    The Malaria Day program at Government Model School, Sector 49, was a meaningful initiative that strengthened awareness and community involvement. The presence of Mohan Foundation as a partner organization enriched the event, making it more impactful and inspiring for all participants.
