On, 5th May, 2015 an awareness session was conducted for the students of Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector-37-b, Chandigarh under the “Student Awareness Campaign” which started on, to cover all the students of government schools in Chandigarh. Around 100 students participated and they were from 12th standard. The Principal Ravi Raj Kaur of the School, herself was interested to know about organ donation.
The students very enthusiastically listened the session. One of the student’s father is going through dialysis after 8 years of Kidney transplantation and he shared with the students about how much the patient and their family has to go through .They were given a presentation on Organ donation, importance of deceased donation, concepts of brain Death by Nilakshi and the information brochures were also distributed among the students.
Students were shown donor cards .The students were asked by the Program Coordinator to talk about organ donation with their family and friends if they are convinced with the cause.
