  On 22^nd February 2022, MOHAN Foundation was invited by Mrs. Archana, NSS Program Officer, to conduct an awareness talk on organ donation for their NSS volunteers at Govt. Model Senior Secondary School, Sector-37 D, Chandigarh. Around 45 students attended the session.

   

  Participants were given an introduction and presentation on organ donation and brain death by Ms. Neha Sharma Katoch.

   

  In this talk, she explained the following points: -

  • When and how does organ donation take place
  • Organs that can be donated during life and after death
  • The transplant waiting list in India
  • Brain death
  • Difference between brain death and coma
  • Contraindications to organ donation
  • Transplant Law
  • Role of MOHAN Foundation
  • Organ donation myths and facts
  • Eye donation

   

  The entire group got motivated and convinced to support organ donation. 5 NSS volunteers pledged their organs and took the donor cards. They would love to share their wish with their families and also respect for the body after death.
