  On 8^th February 2022, MOHAN Foundation was invited by Mrs. Seema Chaudhary, NSS Program Officer to conduct an awareness talk on organ donation for their NSS volunteers.  Around 40 boys attended the session.

   

  Participants were given an introduction and presentation on organ donation and brain death by Ms. Neha Sharma Katoch.

   

  In this talk, she explained the following points: -

  • Organ donation and its need
  • When and how does organ donation take place
  • Organs that can be donated during life and after death
  • The transplant waiting list in India
  • Brain death
  • Difference between brain death and coma
  • Contraindications to organ donation
  • Transplant Law
  • Role of MOHAN Foundation
  • Organ donation myths and facts
  • Eye donation

   

  The entire group got motivated and convinced to support organ donation. Around 10 boys took the donor card. They would love to share their wish with their families and also respect for the body after death.
