Avinav Jena, a 1st year L.L.B student at Symbiosis Law School, Hyderabad and an intern at MOHAN Foundation completed the “Gift Of Life” course, and participated in an interactive session between the interns, medical professionals and other experts from MOHAN Foundation.
The final and the last module required the interns to present before a group of people, the basic concepts of organ donation and transplantation, the ethics associated with it and the myths related to it. On the 9th of March Avinav organized a talk on a virtual platform, with an objective to create awareness about organ transplantation.
The talk was mainly intended for the medical students and it was attended by about 20 participants pursuing medical courses in various medical institutions across the nation. Using a PowerPoint presentation, Avinav explained what organ transplantation is, its legality in India, the ethics and the myths regrading organ transplantation. An expert from MOHAN Foundation helped Avinav and answered the questions raised by participants related to opt-in and opt-out systems and religion and organ donation.
