On 14th April 2019, MOHAN Foundation was invited by Mr N P Iyer (President of Giants group Kalyan Metro) and Mr Nilesh Samvatsar (President of Giants group Badlapur) for giving awareness about the Organ Donation to the crowd. They had organized the prayer & celebration on the occasion of Ambedkar Jayanti & given us opportunity to spread the message about Organ Donation under campaign ‘Recycle Life’ by Giants group.
Dr. Jimmy Gupta introduced MOHAN Foundation as an NGO working passionately for deceased organ donation past 22 years. She explained the difference between Cardiac Death & Brain Death in-depth. Then she elaborated about the organs & tissues that can be donated by both the cases. She also introduced the public about new advances like Hand & Uterus transplant.
She also described that tissue donation (skin & eyes) can happen even at home which caught attention of the crowd. She then discussed about Organ Donations that can happen in case of Brain Dead case and number of lives that can be saved by giving the examples of successful transplant stories articles and news about green corridor which was somewhat familiar to the participants. About 70 people attended this program.
Mr N P Iyer who is our first Life Member and working passionately to spread the awareness described the importance of discussing about Organ Donation within the family and to carry Donor Card always in purse or wallet. We thank Mr N P Iyer (President of Giants group Kalyan Metro) and Mr Nilesh Samvatsar (President of Giants group Badlapur) for inviting us and supporting the cause of Organ Donation.
