Awareness Session on Organ Donation held for members of Congress Office, North Nagpur

  • On 11th October 2021, on the occasion of Mr. Nitin Raut (Cabinate Minister) Birthday, MOHAN Foundation in association with Transplants – Help The Poor Foundation conducted an awareness program on Organ Donation along with the Vaccination Drive at Congress North office at Sugat Nagar.

    Mrs. Geeta Shribas (Corporator) requested MOHAN Foundation to conducts awareness session on organ donation for members of ward and general public.

    Ms. Prarthana Dwivedi (Transplant Coordinator) began session by elaborating MOHAN Foundation mission, vision and activities to the participants. She briefly explained about Organ and Tissue donation. The following topics were explained in detail to the audience:

    MOHAN Foundation and its activities

    • Brain Stem Death
    • Circulatory Death
    • Organ allocation system
    • Eye, Skin & Bone donation
    • Importance of a Donor Card

    During the interaction, the audience raised questions related to the following:

    • In coma condition why patients cannot donate their organ.
    • Unclaimed body are used for study purpose.
    • Brain Stem Death Certification Process.

    Around 58 members participated in this awareness session out of 33 took place. The session lasted for more than one hour and was highly interactive.
