Awareness Session on Organ Donation at the Indian Red Cross Society, UT Branch, Chandigarh - Session 3

  • On 20th November 2019, MOHAN Foundation was invited by the Training Supervisor, The Indian Red Cross Society, UT Branch, Chandigarh to conduct an awareness talk on organ donation for their First Aid Students at Karuna Sadan Building, Chandigarh. Around 44 participants from various parts of Punjab, Haryana & Chandigarh College Students, Patient Care Attendants, Home Nursing, Nannies and Bus Conductors participated in the program.

    Participants were given the presentation on organ donation and brain death by Ms. Neha Sharma.

    In this talk she explained the following points: -

    • Organ donation types and who can be a donor
    • She challenged 5 myths with 5 facts on Organ Donation
    • Difference between natural death and brain death
    • Real life stories of an organ transplant being shared with the participants
    • Importance of the Donor card
    • To pledge their organs they can register at MOHAN Foundation

    It was an interactive session. Around 44 people were present in the training room and 35 of them picked up their donor card.
