MOHAN Foundation was invited by Sri. Jalander Goud to conduct an awareness session and install a stall for registration for organ donation pledging organized by Maktala Foundation at Vishwakarma Sagam in Secunderabad on the occasion of Printers Day on 24th February 2015. There was also a medical camp organized with free eye testing and blood donation camp.
Maktala Foundation along with several members of Printers Association is a working since 2010 to bring awareness among the society about environmental protection and other social causes.
Dr. Koti Reddy clearly explained the purpose, necessity, importance, complex issues in deceased organ donation, concept of brain death, cultural and religious barriers, THO Act and myths related to organ donation.
There were about 500 participants and volunteers that were distributed donor cards and information brochures. The participants, volunteers and police personnel positively reacted to the idea and have promised to spread awareness about organ donation in the future in the communities that they are engaged.
We thank Sri. Jalander Goud and the organizers for their kind support in organizing the awareness session and also helping us in setting up the stall at this event for a noble cause.
