


An awareness session on organ donation was conducted on 29th April 2025, by Dr. Bhanu Prakash, Transplant Coordinator of MOHAN Foundation at the Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in Musheerabad in collaboration with the Nephrology Department of Gandhi Hospital.
The main aim of the session was to educate students and staff about the importance of organ donation and to clarify their doubts and myths, and encourage them to pledge for organ donation.
Around 100 students and staff attended the session along with the Vice Principal, Mr. Vishwapalak, who supported and appreciated the initiative. The session began with a simple explanation of what organ donation is and why it is important, especially in a country like India where the need for transplants is growing every day. The process of organ donation after brain death and the types of organs and tissues that can be donated were explained clearly.
By the end of the session, many students and staff were inspired to pledge their organs. Donor cards and brochures were distributed, around 80 members pledged for organ donation.
