Awareness Session on Organ Donation at D.D.M. Sai College of Education, Kallar (Nadaun), Himachal Pradesh

  • On 15th March 2019, MOHAN Foundation was invited by Shri.Rajesh Kapil, Managing Director of D.D.M. Sai College of Education, Kallar (Nadaun), Himachal Pradesh to conduct an awareness talk on Organ Donation.

     

    In this program, there were 200 students of B.Ed and Law Stream who participated with keen interest. Director (North) of MOHAN Foundation Shri. Sudhir Dewan and Programme Officer, Ms. Neha Sharma also came to supervise the programme. Firstly Shri. Sudhir Dewan given an introduction and discuss about Organ Donation and Transplantation and its importance  and then students were given an introduction and presentation on Organ Donation and Brain Death by Dr.Komal Sharma.

     

    In this talk she explained the following points: -

    • Organ donation types and who can be a donor
    • The status of Organ Donation in India and their Requirements Vs Donation rates
    •  She challenged 5 myths with 5 facts on Organ Donation
    •  Difference between natural death and brain death
    • Age is not a constraint in donating their organs.
    •  Real life stories of an organ transplant being shared with the participants
    •  Importance of Donor card
    •  To pledge their organs, they can register at MOHAN Foundation.
    • MOHAN Foundation mission & vision.

     

    Participants were very enthusiastic and asked many queries related to the Organ Donation process. Participants were highly satisfied and motivated with the noble cause by the MOHAN Foundation. They took the donor cards to express their wish through MOHAN Foundation and many of them had registered on E-donor card.
