On the 15th March 2022 Aam Admi Party and Mr. Bulu from MOHAN Foundation conducted door to door campaign on creating organ donation awareness for the residents of Nalco Society, Jaitala Area, Nagpur.
Mr. Kunal Gade, a candidate from Municipal Corporation of Nalco society invited Mr. Bulu Behera to organize a stall and create awareness about organ donation to the residents of Nalco society, Nagpur .
Mr. Bulu Behera organized a stall with MOHAN Foundation’s donor cards, broachers, pledge form, standee and banners. During this event, he introduced himself and addressed the audience about MOHAN Foundation and its activities .
Thereafter, he discussed the following topics about organ donation:
1. Concept of organ donation
2. Types of death –Brain death, Circulatory death.
3. Within what duration of time the tissues should be donate?
4. Information about donor card was shared with the participants.
5. MOHAN Foundation’s helpline number was shared with the audience.
6. THO Act was explained
7. Information about ROTTO-SOTTO, ZTCC and NOTTO was shared with the participants.
Certain questions asked by the audience were as follows:
1. After a person’s death, how will his/her family members know that he/she has pledged her/ his organs?
2. Which are the organs that can be donate by a living donor?
Members of Aam Admi party appreciated Mr. Bulu for his hard work and determination in creating awareness about organ donation to the general public. Around 40 residents of the society visited the stall and actively participated in the programme. The programme was valuable and inspired 11 members to pledge their organs.
