Awareness Session on Eye Donation Conducted at Public Health Centre Sakharshet, Jawhar, Palghar

  • On February 25, 2026, MOHAN Foundation’s Karina Kadu was invited by PHC Sakharshet, Jawhar, to conduct an awareness session for ASHA workers, ANMs, and other staff members.

     

    During the session, Karina Kadu explained the concept of eye donation, corneal blindness, its causes, necessary precautions, eligibility criteria, and age limits for donation. The legal aspects related to eye donation were also discussed in detail. Additionally, common myths and misconceptions were addressed to provide clear and accurate information to the participants.

     

    A total of 90 members attended the session. The program was interactive, and participants actively asked questions regarding eligibility, the procedure after death, and the time frame for eye donation.

     

    MOHAN Foundation expresses its sincere gratitude to PHC Sakharshet, Jawhar, for collaborating and supporting the noble cause of eye donation by helping to raise awareness within the community.
