Awareness Session on Eye Donation Conducted at Khoripada village, Jawhar, Palghar

  • An eye donation awareness session was successfully conducted on April 9, 2026, at Khoripada Village, Jawhar, during an eye check-up camp organized by Vision Spring. The main objective of the session was to spread awareness about the importance of eye donation and to motivate individuals to pledge their eyes, thereby helping to reduce corneal blindness and restore vision to those in need.

     

    The session was attended by approximately 45 participants from the local community who had gathered for the eye check-up camp. It was conducted in a simple, interactive, and engaging manner to ensure better understanding among all participants, regardless of their educational background.

     

    During the session, participants were informed about the concept and significance of eye donation. Detailed information was provided on who can donate eyes, emphasizing that people of almost all age groups can become eye donors. The process of eye donation was explained step-by-step, including the importance of timely action after death and the role of family consent. Participants were also guided on how pledging for eye donation can make a meaningful difference by restoring sight to individuals suffering from corneal blindness.

     

    As a positive outcome of the session, two individuals came forward and pledged to donate their eyes. This reflects the effectiveness of the awareness session and the willingness of the community to contribute towards a noble cause.

     

    Mr. Aniket Sir from KLI was also present during the session. His valuable guidance and support strengthened the program and reinforced the importance of eye donation among the attendees.
