On the occasion of Swatantryaveer Savarkar's death anniversary, February 25, 2025, the Government of Maharashtra organized a Blood Donation and Eye Donation Registration Program to honor his legacy. As part of this initiative, I had the privilege of conducting 5 awareness sessions at MD College, aiming to educate students on the life-saving importance of blood and eye donation.
The first session was held for all NSS (National Service Scheme) students, followed by four additional sessions tailored to different student streams. It was truly inspiring to witness the enthusiasm and participation of the students, as they actively engaged in the discussions and gained a deeper understanding of the significance of donation. The sessions covered important topics, including the process and benefits of blood and eye donation, eligibility criteria, and the critical need for more donors to save lives and restore sight.
In total, approximately 450 students were educated through these sessions. The overwhelming interest and commitment shown by the students were heartening, and many expressed their intention to actively participate in the donation programs. This initiative was a wonderful success in raising awareness and inspiring the next generation to contribute to these noble causes.
