On August 13, 2025, MOHAN Foundation organized an awareness program on organ donation at Barakathal Higher Secondary School, West District, Tripura. The session was conducted for students of Classes IX to XII, along with the teaching staff. The Assistant Headmaster, Mr. Rakesh Debbarma, coordinated with MOHAN Foundation, Tripura, to facilitate the program.
Mr. Vincent Debbarma (Project Lead, Tripura) and Ms. Nipa Modak (Program Executive, Tripura) represented MOHAN Foundation.
The program began with a warm welcome and introduction by Ms. Kwchungti Debbarma, a member of the teaching staff.
Mr. Vincent delivered an informative talk on organ donation using a PowerPoint presentation. He introduced MOHAN Foundation and shared insights into its mission and initiatives. He explained the concept and importance of organ donation, types of donors, organs and tissues that can be donated, brain death, coma, cornea donation, and the Transplantation of Human Organs Act, 1994, passed by the Government of India.
Ms. Nipa Modak distributed leaflets on organ donation to the students to reinforce the key messages shared during the session.
The program was attended by approximately 157 participants, including students and teachers.
