On 9th February 2025, MOHAN Foundation was invited by Mr. Ramesh Reddy, the organizer of the "Run for Life" event in Proddatur, Kadapa District, Andhra Pradesh, to spread awareness about organ donation.
Dr. Bhanu Prakash, Transplant Coordinator, MOHAN Foundation, conducted the awareness session, helping people understand the importance of organ donation and how it can save lives.
The event was attended by Sri Varda Rajulu, MLA of Proddatur Constituency, as the chief guest. He flagged off the 3K and 5K Run, which started from Municipal High School, T.B. Road, passing through Shivalayam and ending at Mydukur Road, Proddatur.
After the run, everyone gathered at the stage, where Dr. Bhanu Prakash gave a detailed talk on brain death, the importance of organ donation, and how donated organs can help people in need. He also answered questions from the audience.
Around 2,000 people (including students of schools and colleges) participated in the event, and MOHAN Foundation distributed donor cards and brochures to encourage more people to support the cause.
At the end of the event, prizes were distributed, and MLA Sri Varda Rajulu pledged to donate his organs, appreciating the efforts of MOHAN Foundation in raising awareness about organ donation.
