On 22-07-17 MOHAN Foundation Puducherry conducted an awareness program on organ donation for the students of to the Pondicherry University Community College (PUCC). The college is under the aegis of the Pondicherry University and providing allied health science courses to the students. PUCC students and staff members participated in the program.
The session began with the introduction about the speaker by Prof. Tharakeswari of Biology department. Mr. Ruban Victor represented MOHAN Foundation and addressed the gathering. An awareness session on organ donation was taken to the students. The concepts on what is organ donation, difference between live donor and deceased donor was explained to the students. How students can show their support through donor was discussed. The session ended with a video on donor memorial.
80 students participated in the session and 40 of them took a donor card. We would like to thank Dr. Prema Latha, Prof. Tharakeswari and Prof. Mathew of Pondicherry University Community College for their support.
