
On 5th December 2011, a public awareness session on Brain Death and Organ Donation was conducted to the Nursing Staff of the Intensive Care Unit of Global Hospital, Chennai. The main objective of the awareness session was making the Nursing Staff to understand what the causes of Brain death are and how the term actually arrived.
The main concept explained to the Nursing Staff was on Organ Donation, Role of Nurses on Transplant, the current statistics on Organ Donors and how the State is supporting this noble cause.
Mr. Ruban explained on how Nursing Staff can Promote Eye Donation which can help save many lives.
At the end of the session, every Nursing Individual pledged a Donor Card and took a Motto on ‘LIFE PASS IT ON’.
