On 7th December 2011, MOHAN Foundation was invited by the SPANDAN Ladies Club in Nungambakkam to do Organ Donation Awareness to its members. The club consisted of 20 young and enthusiastic ladies who were so interested in supporting social causes and wanted to know more about Organ Donation.
Ms. Jessi, Transplant Coordinator briefed them on the concepts and importance of doing Organ Donation. The difference between natural death and brain death was explained to them. The organs that can be donated by a person after natural death and brain death were told to them which were an eye opener to many of them. When told about our young donor Jyothirmaye, whose heart valves were donated, they were taken aback and appreciated MOHAN Foundation for its remarkable work. When the importance of Donor Cards was put forth, 18 of them came forward and picked up the Donor Cards. They also extended their support to this noble cause by purchasing MOHAN Foundation mugs.
