  • Ms Jaya Jairam was invited by Army Public School, Ahmednagar, on August 23, 2021, to conduct an awareness talk on organ donation, for its students of grades 9 to 12 and the teaching staff.

The students of Army Public School, Ahmednagar introduced the topic quite beautifully and thereafter invited Ms Jaya Jairam to speak. Ms Jairam introduced MOHAN Foundation and its activities and thereafter shared the concepts of organ donation to the audience. She spoke about the need for organ donation and clarified various myths shrouding the topic. She then concluded with why more people, especially youngsters need to support the cause and how one can do so.

She shared her own personal story and played a motivational video that beautifully depicted how one organ donor can save many lives.

More than 125 students attended the session. A lot of interesting queries were raised by the group, a few of which are listed below -

'Within how many hours should the organs be transplanted? Can they be stored?'

'How is the quality of life of transplant recipients? How long can they live after a transplant?'

'Are there any health conditions that prevent someone from donating their organs?'

MOHAN Foundation thanks the organisers at Army Public School, Ahmednagar for this wonderful initiative.
