An interactive session organized by MOHAN Foundation for college students and Staff at Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Chest Diseases

  • Mr. Anand Nursing faculty of Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Chest Diseases bengaluru invited MOHAN Foundation to conduct an interactive session on organ donation for nursing and medical college students and staff as well. MOHAN Foundation team organized awareness session on 01st August 2023, Around 610 students and few faculties participated in this awareness session.

    MOHAN Foundation was represented by Mrs.Ranjini Shankar M S, Project Manager and Mr. Surya Prakash, Program Coordinator.

    The following topics were discussed in detail:

    • Introduction about Mohan Foundation
    • Brain Stem Death
    • Circulatory Death
    • Jeevasarthakathe and its role
    • Organ allocation system in Karnataka
    • The Burden of Organ failure & need for organ donation
    • Importance of a Donor Card

    Mrs. Ranjini Shankar MS gave a brief insight into MOHAN Foundation courses and motivated the students and staff to pledge for organ donation

    All of 610 audience supported the cause by taking the pledge for organ donation.

    Brochures and donor cards were distributed at the end of the session.

    A rally was also conducted within the Hospital campus along with the Director of Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Chest Diseases (Dr. Nagaraj) and also the Principal of Nursing College also participated in the event.

    MOHAN Foundation thanks Mr. Anand for their support towards the cause of Organ donation
