An Interactive Session on Organ Donation at Sri Gokulam Chit Funds, Kodambakkam

• On 16^th July 2014 an interactive session on organ donation was organized by Sri Gokulam Chit Funds, Kodambakkam, Chennai. The company president Mr. John felt that Organ Donation is very meaningful after death so he invited MOHAN Foundation to speak about the concept of organ donation to his employees. Mr. Prakash K, Transplant Coordinator MOHAN Foundation conducted the session. The session started with interaction of activities of MOHAN Foundation and followed by powerpoint presentation.

   

  The following topics were explained to the group:

  • Importance of organ donation
  • Types of donations – live and deceased donation
  • Difference between Natural Death, Coma and Brain Death
  • Organs that can be donated in cardiac death and brain death
  • Eye donation
  • Preservation time of organs
  • Importance of Donor card
  • Source of  information   - MOHAN Foundation website and helpline number

   

  Totally 40 of their employees participated in the programme and all of them are ready to pledge donor cards during the mega event. The event will be conducted in collaboration with MOHAN Foundation on 23^rd July 2014 at Dr. Kamaraj Hall, Teynampet.
