  • On June 21, 2026, the program titled ‘Aashaye 2026’ was conducted for patients suffering from chronic kidney disease (CKD) and their family members. The event was organized by NephroPlus and Datta Meghe Medical College and Hospital, Wardha, with participation from the MOHAN Foundation as one of the contributing organizations. The program brought together more than 100 dialysis patients and their relatives for education, interaction, and motivational support.

The main objective of the event was to focus on the needs, challenges, and quality of life of CKD patients. The program created a platform where patients and caregivers could receive useful information about dialysis care, lifestyle management, Kidney donation & Transplantation, available treatment options. It also aimed to provide emotional encouragement and practical guidance to help patients manage their condition more confidently.

The organ-donation awareness session was conducted by Ms. Veena Wathore from MOHAN Foundation, with the support of Mr. Ramesh Bhisikar, Ambassador of MOHAN Foundation, and Mr. Dhiraj Kurve, Transplant Coordinator. During the session, the importance of organ donation was explained in a simple and patient-friendly manner. The session helped participants understand how organ donation and transplantation can offer a life-saving treatment option for eligible patients with kidney failure.

The awareness session also addressed common myths and misconceptions related to organ donation and transplantation. Participants were given an opportunity to ask questions and clarify doubts regarding donor eligibility, transplant procedures, and the legal aspects involved in organ donation. This helped create a more open and informed discussion around transplantation.

In addition to the organ-donation awareness session, the program included topics that were directly relevant to dialysis patients. Sessions were held on how to lead a normal life on dialysis, how to maintain a good fistula, and nutrition and lifestyle management. These topics were especially useful for patients who need long-term dialysis care and ongoing support in their daily lives.

To make the program more engaging, interactive activities such as riddles and quizzes were also conducted. These activities encouraged participation, created a positive atmosphere, and helped reinforce the health messages shared during the event. The interactive format made the session more approachable and enjoyable for patients and caregivers.

The program highlighted the importance of multidisciplinary collaboration in CKD patient care. By bringing together a dialysis network, hospital team, and awareness organization, ‘Aashaye 2026’ demonstrated how education and support can be combined to improve patient understanding and motivation. Such initiatives play an important role in strengthening awareness about kidney disease, dialysis care, and the value of organ donation.

MOHAN Foundation sincerely thank Krunal Solanki, Half Country Head; Harsh Jain, Cluster Manager; and Sanjit, Centre Manager, NephroPlus, for their support and coordination in making this program successful. We also thank the hospital team, participants, and caregivers for their enthusiastic involvement and cooperation.

Overall, ‘Aashaye 2026’ was a meaningful and well-received program that focused on patient education, awareness, and encouragement. It provided CKD patients and their families with practical information, emotional support, and a better understanding of both dialysis management and transplantation options.
