A virtual talk on organ donation conducted for ICICI Academy, Osmanabad.

  • On 24th November MOHAN Foundation was invited to conduct a virtual awareness session on organ donation for the students pursuing livelihood training from ICICI Academy, Osmanabad.  The programme was conducted in collaboration with Transplant Help the Foundation and ICICI Foundation.

     

    Ms. Jaya Jairam was the speaker for the day. She began the session by asking participants about their understanding of organ donation. The following topics were explained with the help of a PowerPoint presentation.

     

    1. Organ donation and its need in the society
    2. When and how does organ donation take place
    3. Organs that can be donated during life and after death
    4. Transplant waiting list in India
    5. Brain death
    6. Difference between brain death and coma
    7. Role of MOHAN Foundation
    8. Myths and facts about organ donation
    9. Eye donation

     

    The participants expressed their views and opinions about organ donation and asked the below questions 

    1. Can the organs of a child of age 5 to 7 years be donated?
    2. Is there any age limit for donation?
    3. Does the recipient have to pay any sum to the donor?
    4. Are there any organ donation facilities in Osmanabad?
