A session on ‘Role of Police in Organ donation’ at Ajni Police Station, Nagpur

  • On March 14, 2026, MOHAN Foundation, in collaboration with Aureus Hospital and GMCH, Nagpur, conducted a session on the “Role of the Police in Organ Donation” at Ajni Police Station, Nagpur.

    Mrs. Veena Wathore, Project Manager at MOHAN Foundation, served as the resource person and explained the importance of police involvement in organ donation, especially in medico-legal cases. She highlighted procedures such as police inquest, panchanama, and the need for transparency, proper documentation, and timely coordination to avoid delays in organ retrieval and transplantation. She also explained the role of police in facilitating green corridors for the swift transport of organs.

    Mr. Dhiraj Kurve distributed MOHAN Foundation brochures along with sample Forms 8 & 10, inquest letters, and police letter formats to ACP Mr. Narendra Hivre.

    Around 20 police officers from Ajni Division attended the session and actively participated. MOHAN Foundation and Mr. Aniruddh Koparkar (Admin Head, Aureus Hospital) expressed gratitude to ACP Mr. Narendra Hivre and Ajni Police Station for their support and cooperation in organizing the session.
