A Stall at Buddha Vihar, Nagpur for Organ Donation Awareness

  • MOHAN Foundation set up a stall on 20th September in Ram Nagar, Buddha Vihar in Nagpur to spread awareness about organ donation. Information brochures and donor cards were available in the stall, where standees and banner motivational messages about organ donation were also placed.  

    Mr. Bulu Behera, Transplant Coordinator of MOHAN Foundation managed the stall. The following information was given to general public: 

    • What is Organ donation?
    • Types of death
    • What is natural death and brain death?
    • Whom to contact for organ donation?
    • What is the age limit for organ donation?
    • Time factor in organ donation
    • Difference between coma and brain death
    • The legal aspects in organ donation and transplantation
    • Using the MOHAN Foundation website and helpline number

    Questions asked by general public:

    • After death whom to contact for organ donation?
    • What needs to be done if there is no response on the helpline?
    • What is the process for eye donation?

    The stall received around 30 visitors, of which 2 signed consent form for organ donation.
